Reverbnation, a powerful tool that music artist from many different genres use to promote the music they make. The site offers a number of tools for artists to connect with their intended audience, such as widgets to collect fans, social network synchronization, music player widgets, and even allows you to host your own mobile app. Although these features do not come without a fee, they are all well worth the money spent on them.
With the evolution of new technology advancing the way independent artists, and major labels promote the work they do. Social networks alone have completely changed the way information is received by the public, placing sites like Reverbnation at the forefront of a new cutting edge artist promotion platform.
Speaking for myself, Reverbnation has not only allowed me to get my music heard, it has allowed me to connect with fans directly through email, create a profile for fans to find out more about me, and ultimately brands my name Dan F. Man.
Reverbnation also offers a connection between venues, labels, concert promoters, managers, and artists. One of the features it offers is Electronic Press Kit (EPK) submission to venues, and promoters for performance opportunities. This to me is by far the best feature that Reverbnation offers and one of the main attractions that drew me into the site. The site offers artist the opportunity to submit their EPK's to venues searching for acts.
So, overall I have found success in my use of Reverbnation for about 2 years now, and it has been a useful tool in helping me brand my name in the new internet based music industry. Although there are other sites that incorporate some the same tools as Reverbnation, I would still recommend Reverbnation as a good start in gathering an internet fan base.
